Lorraine F. "Lorrie" Dupuis, 79, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Born April 5, 1922, in Worcester, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Celia (Gould) Johnson and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School in Lynn, Mass.

She held several secretarial positions, which included working for Ford Motor Co., Boeing, as a personal secretary for the Dunfey family, who formerly of Hampton, and later co-owned and operated the Flower Wagon in Hampton for several years. She also used her sewing abilities, working as a seamstress and doing alterations. She was a communicant and former member of the choir at St. James Church. She also enjoyed ceramics and singing. Mrs. Dupuis resided here the past 35 years coming from Texas, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

She was the wife of the late Joseph Emery Dupuis, who died last April, for 58 years; and was predeceased by a daughter, Marie Ellen Dupuis, who died in 1998. Family members include four sons, Emery J. Dupuis of Kinnelon, N.J., Oscar J. Dupuis of Oxford, Pa., Charles L. Dupuis of Wilmington, N.C., and Gerard J. Dupuis of Ashton, Pa.; two daughters, Celia M. Connors of Mullica Hill, N.J., and Alice M. Holding of Portsmouth; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Rogers and Corrine Opie both of Lynn, Mass.; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
